Definition of the methodology and performance of the safety studies necessary to comply with safety requirements and optimal preventive measures for the correct installation of the different equipment that will make up the prototype plant, i.e. the hydrogen supply circuit, blending with natural gas and its subsequent use for combustion. This ensures the protection of the people involved, the facilities and the surrounding environment.
The aim is to take all safety measures into account so that the tests are carried out as safely as possible.
The information received is used to conduct an in-depth analysis using applicable rules and regulations, as well as risk analysis methodologies, all applied to hydrogen environments.
The results obtained once the hydrogen facility study and safety analysis have been carried out will be as follows:
1. ATEX zoning in the vicinity of the facilities.
2. Safety distances for the installation of equipment.
3. Risk metrics based on a quantitative risk analysis.
The facilities that process or store hydrogen and are therefore involved in the scope of the project are as follows:
• Pressurised hydrogen storage
• Storage decompression ramp
• H2 + NG blending skid
• Internal gas ramp
